Winnie’s Minnie Winter Garden Party

Winnie’s Minnie Winter Garden Party

Windsor is TWO, I feel like I was just pregnant with her last week and here she is TWO!  The last two years maybe have been the fastest two years of my life.  Most likely because Windsor makes everything so easy and enjoyable, time flies when your having fun!  TWO and the most beauty soul that ever did exist!  Because she is so so special to us, we wanted to throw her a fabulous party.  She is Minnie Mouse obsessed along with all things Disney so we thought we would throw her a Minnie Mouse party with a little twist!

AMBIENCE
We love a good party in this house and by we I mean me and the girls!  Greg however does love to come but he’s not into the details like us!  What guys are??  However he did change all the lightbulbs in the house that were burnt out 20 min before the party started!  For Winnie’s Minnie Mouse Winter Garden theme we wanted to incorporate as much floral as we could with as much Minnie as we could!  We did lots of pink and black and white Minnie Mouse inspired colors and patterns.  We used Minnie Mouse plates and napkins, made a Minnie Mouse head floral wall, and Minnie Mouse figures throughout the house.  I made a beautiful floral trellis that went above the cake.  We made dozens of floral arrangements to put out throughout the party.  The kids had fun helping set up and dIYing with me!  I really think Arabella is going to be a party planner!  With it being winter, we kept it small and just invited  family and few friends with kids her age and most of them had siblings Arabella’s age.  I like to have parties at our house so I wanted it to be small and intimate with it being inside and also more manageable for a two year old.

MINNIE MOUSE
Who doesn’t love Minnie Mouse?  She’s beautiful, she’s happy and she’s so much fun!  My kids die for her so I thought it was the most age appropriate charector to have come to the party!  She was a hit, the kids hugged and danced with her to all her favorite songs!

MINNIE MOUSE HUNT

MINNIE MOUSE HUNT
I had so many activities going on spread out I wanted the kids to be able to check off each thing they did.  So I made a little mouse hunt for them to put a sticker on each activity when they did it.  It’s somethjng they do at Disney for kids at Epcot !   Arabella had so much fun handing those out as the guests arrived.

MOUSE EAR DIY KIT

MOUSE EAR DIY KIT
Arabella and Windsor both love doing crafts.  I prepackaged some Minnie Mouse ears for the kids to do at the party.  They were so occupied with all the other things going on they ended up taking them home to do.  Which is nice for the parents because taking kids to parties can be exhausting so I hope that the parents got a break when the kids did the craft.

WINNIE’S BOUTIQUE

WINNIE’S BOUTIQUE
Windsor and Arabella love bows!  And since Minnie has a Bowtique in “real life” I thought Winnie needed one for her party.  I put out a bunch of bows and let the kids each pick 3!  I set up a cash register next to it so they could pretend play check them out.

DIY TATTOO BAR

DIY TATTOO BAR
Another hit at any party is tattoos.  I try to save in some places so I can budget more into things like cake.  I always opt for DIY tattoos instead of an airbrush artist or painter.  I think they get mostly the same pleasure out of it and I let them go crazy and do as many tattoos as they want.  They also wash off easily and if the party is indoors they won’t rub off on anything.  I put out a few sponges and a little bowl of water and they can transfer away easily.

BOUNCE HOUSE

BOUNCE HOUSE
We have a small bounce house we set up in the basement and with only a handful of kids it was easy to have up and manage.  There was plenty of other things to do so it was never overly crowded.

PINATA

PINATA
I found a cute Minnie Mouse piñata with pull strings for the little ones.  I think I prefer the one where you whack it with a bat it was pretty uneventful but still fun.  I prepackaged little bags to hand out in case some kids didn’t get any.  Being the youngest I always think of things like that because I was the kid with one tootsie roll at the end of a piñata break!  Haha!

MOVIE

MOVIE
We put on a 20 min Minnie Mouse movie, Minnie’s Birthday. It was quick and easy and the perfect transition into lunch.   I popped some popcorn and offered some snacks while the pizza and salads were being plated upstairs.

MINNIE MOUSE FLORAL WALL
I love including a photo wall for the people who die for pictures like I do!  I simply made a Minnie Mouse head with flowers.  I cut the head out of large paper and then added a layer of tape over it to make it sturdy and so it wouldn’t rip.  Arabella helped me glue all the flowers on!  It turned out so pretty!  I want to hang it up downstairs in the play room because it’s something I don’t want to part with.

FOOD
This time I kept the food simple.  We made 3 salads, had fresh fruit and ordered pizza.  Usually I do lunch boxes but the kids often just pick at the food so I made it easy on myself.  Plus pizza and salad is ALWAYS a good idea.  I love having an adult beverage option for kids party’s, (FOR THE ADULTS, the kids had water and juice) I made a little mimosa bar with fresh fruit and OJ.  It was a hit especially with myself 🤣!

CAKE
My favorite thing about any party is the cake!  I wanted Winnie’s cake to be perfect so I went a little over budget there.  I found a cute Minnie Mouse Ceramic that she can keep as a keepsake for as long as she wants!  I decided to go with that instead of fondant because fondant doesn’t taste great and this way she can have a little Minnie reminder of how we spoiled her for her 2 year old party.   I made a big floral trellis out of bamboo sticks and silk flowers to go over the dessert table.  I put out store bought donuts and mini cakes to add to it and for anyone who wanted a bite of something sweet before the cake was cut.

PARTY FAVORS

PARTY FAVORS
I love packing party favors and the kids love helping.  We did little burlap sacks with Minnie Mouse inspired things inside that Windsor loves.  A large 6 piece puzzle, slap bracelet, candy, a mini sticker and coloring book set, Mickey Mouse Straw, Minnie Mouse nails for the older kids, Minnie Mouse stamper, and a candy necklace.   I tried to incorporate some of my favorite Disney slogans throughout the party.  One of my FAVORITE things about Disney is the sign when leaving that says “see you real soon” !  I used that same line on the thank you bags with a hand written white pen on a black mouse head and gave it a pink bow!

WE ALL HAD THE BEST TIME!!!!!  Someone mentioned it looked like a scene from a magazine and that’s truly how it felt.  Celebrating Winnie on her 2nd birthday was so special because TWO is such a special age where they really start to get excited and appreciate things. There was also something sweet about a small party that makes everything a little bit more heartwarming!  Windsor had the best time too, she passed out while I was holding her when the guests were leaving!   I hope two will be as magical for her as her party was!

Xx,
